TECHNOLOGICAL CRITERIA FOR DESIGN OF SMART BUILDINGS

ABSTRACT

The incorporation of new technologies of information had brought in consequence the need to adapt the man’s habitat in order to give him, higher levels of security, comfort and economy as well as to make easy the process of communicational integration with the environment. On purpose of establishing technological criteria for the design of smart buildings it was determinate in first place the contemporary problematic of the buildings; in second place it was studied the smart building's characteristics an then, their   applications. It was determinate the intelligence levels in the smart buildings at the city of Maracaibo. The questionnaires were used to ask to 18 experts in telecommunication and architecture areas, their opinions. The bibliographical review was used too. The kind of investigation is descriptive and a field research. The design of the investigation is non experimental and descriptive transectional. The results of the investigation indicated that the security is the problem to solve and has became to be the primordial characteristic upon the experts have to design their buildings, followed the economy, comfort and communications. Either, was determinate that any kind of buildings could be smart buildings, but the commercial use, residential use and health use are the most important application of domotics principles. At last it was determinate that is necessary an additional subdivision of the intelligence level to approach the city of Maracaibo to a higher levels of development of their buildings. Therefore, the design of smart buildings in an alternative to the contemporary habit problematic, look at the all possibilities that this technology offers to the improvement the life quality of the human beings.
