CONNECTIVISM AS KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT

The main purpose of the present essay was to reflect about the coca leave production in the Apurimac and Ene River Valley in Peru. Some questions were stated: how many families do directly depend on coca leave cultivation in the Apurimac and Ene River Valley (AERV)? Which is the surface of legal and illegal coca cultivated fields in the Apurimac and Ene River Valley? Which are the possibilities to estimate the value added of coca leave production and its derivates and how much does it raise? What would be the cost of exportation? An exploratory, descriptive, quantitative and empirical research was done? It was concluded that in 2000, 35375 hectares was the extension of coca cultivated fields and 27515 hectares was extension of illegal coca cultivated fields the in the AERV. These numbers shows an illegal coca cultivated fields grow in the past 4 years. These questions lead to formulate the assumption that 80% of AERV’s coca cultivated surface is illegal and families participate in the illegal production of coca increasing their incomes in more of a 100%, rather than doing legal agricultural activities.
